Driver arrested for Kansas City auto accident

The Kansas City Star reported that the city’s police department is preparing a case file today against a driver arrested last night in connection with the Kansas City auto accident.

This hit-and-run accident critically injured a 17-year-old mother and her 2-month-old baby.

The suspect was arrested as he and his passenger were running from the scene of the Kansas City auto accident. The passenger escaped.

While the baby’s condition has improved, the mother received life-threatening car accident injuries and is in critical condition.

Police said today the baby’s condition had improved to serious, but is still in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Hobby Lobby sold Missouri defective products that contain lead

Two days before Easter, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a defective product recall including nearly 13,000 Camouflage Eggs and Spinning Egg Top Toys that are sold at Hobby Lobby, according to The News Tribune.

The Missouri defective products are being recalled because of an excessive amount of lead in the paint, according to the Missouri Attorney General. The Chinese-made toys have been in stores since January.

To avoid Missouri defective product injuries, parents should remove the toys and contact Hobby Lobby to get an exchange card.

Man charged in St. Louis wrongful death

March 19, 2008

A man murdered his longtime girlfriend while fighting outside St. Louis Children’s Hospital, according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch. They were there to visit her granddaughter, who had been injured in a fire.

The man attacked his girlfriend with a knife, causing the St. Louis wrongful death. Police said that he then tried to cut his own throat, but the injury was not life-threatening.

This St. Louis man was charged on Tuesday with armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon after the Missouri wrongful death.

Community rallies after car crashed into Missouri home

March 18, 2008

Ozarks Local News reported that a seven-year-old boy remains at St. Louis Children’s Hospital with a Missouri brain injury from two months ago when a car crashed through his family’s house, killing one cousin and seriously injuring another.

The cousin of the Missouri brain injury victim still hasn’t fully recovered from the St. Louis auto accident. Scars now line his face, and he sometimes slurs his speech.

The community has reached out to the family and provided generous support. The family has received a video game system to replace the one destroyed by the Missouri car accident, and a check for about $1,000 from workers at the American Steel Foundries plant in Granite City, Ill.
