David M. Nissenholtz was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1945. He received his undergraduate education at The University of Missouri-Columbia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1967. He is a graduate of the Missouri University School of Law, University of Missouri-Columbia where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1971.

In addition to his trial work, Mr. Nissenholtz is also active in numerous professional, legal, and community organizations. He is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Missouri Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Lawyers Association.

Mr. Nissenholtz is authorized to practice law in state and federal courts in Missouri and Illinois and before the United States Supreme Court.
