National Teen Driver Safety Week
October 17 – October 23, 2010
National Teen Driver Safety Week is an initiative focused on lowering driver fatalities by reducing fatal crash risks among teenagers. This year’s campaign runs from October 17 to October 23, 2010.
What Can I Do?
Cofman Townsley wants to remind all drivers to make smart decisions on the road. This includes:
- not talking on the phone or texting while driving—texting while driving is illegal in Illinois; it is illegal for anyone under 21 years old in Missouri
- obeying speed limits
- avoiding distracting conversations with passengers in the vehicle
- not drinking and driving
- waiting until you’re stopped before changing a CD, eating, or putting on makeup
It only takes one mistake to have an accident, so be careful when you get behind the wheel.
