Woman sentenced for death in 2006 Missouri construction accident

Just days after making a televised appeal for safety around construction zones, a man was killed in a 2006 St. Louis auto accident when a woman struck the highway worker, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The St. Louis construction accident happened when the woman’s car drove over warning cones and struck the man who was with police and firefighters at the scene of a fire.

Six days earlier the man was quote in a television interview as saying, “Please slow down and watch out for us here.” The woman who caused the Missouri auto accident claimed she didn’t see him or the emergency vehicles until it was too late and she was sentenced to probation for the 2006 construction accident on Monday.
