The St. Louis Post-Dispatch threw out a Missouri medical malpractice lawsuit Wednesday that was brought by the family of a woman who was left in a vegetative state.
The Missouri medical malpractice victim went in for carpal tunnel surgery and is now in a persistent vegetative state. The medical malpractice suit was brought against two anesthesiologists by the family, claiming she suffered severe brain damage during surgery due to over-sedation.
The family was asking for about $20 million for health care costs and non-economic damages.
