Missouri Car Accident Fatalities Have Increased in 2015

Despite increased efforts to improve traffic safety in Missouri, the number of highway fatalities continues to climb in our state. That’s why the St. Louis car accident attorneys at Cofman Townsley Injury Lawyers would like to look at ways to help reduce your chances of a car crash.
According to KMSU Public Radio, the Missouri Highway Patrol has recorded 437 deaths on our state’s roadways. That’s a six percent increase in the number of fatal motor vehicle collisions this year compared to this time last year.
One of the leading contributing factors to these deaths is a lack of seat belt usage. Data indicates that as many as 63 percent of those who died in Missouri car accidents this year were not properly restrained at the time of the crash. Other factors include speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
So what can you do to stay safe on the road? Our legal staff says taking steps such as buckling up, slowing down, and keeping focused on the task of driving can significantly reduce your chances of being seriously injured in a crash. Refraining from drinking and driving will also help to keep you safe on the road.
At Cofman Townsley Injury Lawyers, we are aware of the risks motorists face on the road each day, and our St. Louis personal injury lawyers hope our tips will help keep you safe.
